What do I mean by beauty? I mean a person’s being made in the image of God, shining through in different ways at different ages.
God is the source of all good, and God’s goodness is for everyone to see, despite the many adversities and evils that we might witness.
It is very important that we mustn’t get angry when time becomes an enemy or when we go through troubles and sufferings. It is in those times that we need to sit still and look to God for guidance.
Be Thou My Vision is not only a Hymn of Glory, but it is a hymn that reminds the person singing it the purpose of worship, and who we are worshipping as Christians.
While people like Martin Luther and John Calvin were important people, we must never forget that it was God’s own will that brought us out of darkness into light.
If we use anything outside of the Scriptural bounds set forth for worship, we’ll have to continue to do so in order to keep the congregation. In other words, they won’t stand for worship within the biblical parameters set forth by God.
We now have the ability to receive new information in a matter of seconds all at our fingertips. While the printing press was an awesome invention, it comes nowhere near the mere potentials of technology.
We should all want each and every person we meet to be saved and come to a knowledge of Jesus Christ. This cannot, however, be the goal of our ministry.
Though it is important to remember our place in all that happened in the Reformation, and to remember how it influenced Christian theology and practice, we must make sure we don’t forget about God’s place in the Reformation.
